Dollar Energy Fund (DEF) is now open for Peoples’ Pennsylvania customers who are experiencing financial hardship with their natural gas bills. Funds are available for a limited time, so you must act fast to get support. DEF helps to ensure your gas service is restored and/or remains on throughout the colder months.

At Peoples, we believe everyone deserves access to clean, safe, reliable natural gas. DEF is one of several programs we offer to customers who need a helping hand.

Who is Eligible? Through a grant from Peoples, you can receive a one-time payment of up to $500 if your total gross household income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and you meet the following criteria: Gas service is off or in threat of termination Applied for Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)/Crisis benefits (when available) Account is for residential service (single family or apartment) Name on the account is an adult currently living in the household Made a good faith payment to the account (within the last 90 days of applying for the grant) Customers with income at or below the following guidelines may be eligible:
